Human Development Committee of Saudi-Emirati Coordination Council Holds First Meeting

The Human Development Committee of the Saudi-Emirati Coordination Council has held its first meeting in 20200 through video call. The meeting was presided by HE Eng. Abdul Rahman Al Hammadi, MoE Undersecretary for Performance Improvement, Head of the Human Development Committee from the Emirati side, and HE Dr. Saleh Bin Ibrahim Al-Qasoumi, MoE Undersecretary for International Cooperation, Head of the Human Development Committee from the Saudi side. Undersecretaries, assistant undersecretaries, and representatives of the joint sectors from both sides had also attended the meeting.

A number of heads and directors of government institutions and departments in the two sister countries; heads of the sectors of education, health, sports, youth, culture, and media; and representatives from the General Secretariat of the Saudi-Emirati Coordination Council from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in the UAE and the Ministry of Economy and Planning in the KSA had also attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the joint projects with the brotherly Saudi side have been reviewed. This comes within the context of enhancing the strategic relations between the two countries, following up on the latest developments in the existing projects between the two sides, and highlighting the most significant achievements, challenges, and solutions in the areas of education, sports, youth affairs, culture, and media.

The meeting made (13) recommendations that stressed the importance of setting goals for each initiative for this year and the coming year.

HE Eng. Abdul Rahman Al-Hammadi stressed that the UAE and KSA were taking steady steps to achieve the vision of the wise leadership in the two countries, by coordinating the efforts in all areas to achieve a brighter future for the peoples of the two countries. He added that the two countries were setting up strategies to prepare the future generations to deal with the new developments and challenges, achieve future visions, make achievements, and lead the future for sustainable prosperity and development.

HE said, “This Council aims to set up a common vision that will enhance and sustain the relationship between the two countries, boost the educational, health, cultural, youth, sports, and media systems, and ensure seizing the opportunities of mutual cooperation and partnership between the two countries. This will eventually push the development efforts in various areas forward.” He praised the work teams for their huge efforts to achieve the visions and aspirations of the leadership in both countries.

For his part, Dr. Al-Qasoumi stressed that the first meeting of 2022 would enhance the achievements that live up to the aspirations of the wise leadership in both countries, which, he said, aimed to achieve success and foresee the future. He added that the achievements made since the last meeting had been discussed to boost the march towards development in the two brotherly countries.
